Properties and uses

Colorless transparent oily liquid, with special smell, Molecular formula C14H26O4, Molecular weight 258.35, Freezing point -37 ℃, Relative Density0.961 ~ 0.965 (20/20 ℃), Boiling point 168 ℃ (10mmHg), Flash point 154 ℃, Refractive index 1.434 (25 ℃). Insoluble in water, soluble in alcohol, ether and other organic solvents.  good compatibility with Polyvinyl chloride, vinyl chloride - vinyl acetate copolymer, polyvinyl butyral, nitrocellulose, butyl acetate fiber and others, it is commonly used as plasticizer to make vinyl fiber resin and synthetic rubber; low Viscosity, good cold resistance, but less durable, can also be used in nitrocellulose coatings.
